Dougray Scott (Mission: Impossible II), Joely Richardson (Nip/Tuck), Brian Cox (X2), Vanessa Redgrave (Deep Impact), Eddie Izzard (The Riches) and Jason Priestly (Beverly Hills 90210) star, with the screenplay written by Patrick Harbinson (ER, Law & Order).

Set in the not-too-distant future, The Day of the Triffids centers around humankind's need to find a new fuel supply. The Triffid plant seems to hold the answer and is cultivated for its fuel.

But when spectators gather worldwide to watch a solar storm and billions are left blinded by the event, the path is left clear for the Triffids to roam the earth. With their fatal sting and taste for human flesh, the Triffids could spell the end of the human race.
