ProblemImporting camera data and matchmoving with 2d3 Boujou
Detailed Description
How do I export matchmove data from 2d3 Boujou or Boujou bullet into CINEMA 4D?
Solution
Begin by installing the boujou import plugin for CINEMA 4D, which is downloadable from the 2d3 website link at the end of this FAQ. This plugin allows you to import boujou's native *.ban format.
After calculating a matchmove in boujou, export the tracking results as a boujou animation file (*.ban)
Now open the ban file in CINEMA 4D. The boujou camera will be imported with animation data attached. You can select this camera from the View Panels Cameras->Scene Cameras menu.
To add the source footage in the background:
1. Create a new material with only the color channel active. Rename this material "BGFootage"
2. In the color channel, load the source quicktime or the first image of the source image sequence.
3. Click the image name in the color channel to view the texture submenu. Within the Animation tab, click the Calculate button. This automatically determines the total number of frames for the sequence or movie.
4. Set the timing and fps as desired. Exact frame will match each frame of the movie to a frame of the animation without dropping frames. Exact second drops frames to match the texture fps with the animation's frame rate.
5. Create a background object (Object->Scene->Background) and apply the BGFootage material using the default frontal projection.
